Lab Grown Diamonds
A lab grown diamond is a real diamond chemically, physically, and optically identical to a mined diamond. It is created in a controlled laboratory environment using advanced technology that replicates the natural conditions under which diamonds form in the earth. The result is a genuine diamond crystal composed of pure carbon in a cubic crystal structure.
They are not simulants like cubic zirconia or moissanite they are certified diamonds with the same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), brilliance, and fire.
They are not simulants like cubic zirconia or moissanite they are certified diamonds with the same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), brilliance, and fire.
We supply diamonds grown by both methods, depending on your specifications:
- CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) ideal for large, high-clarity Type IIa stones. Carbon-rich gas is ionised and deposited layer by layer onto a seed crystal.
- HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) replicates the intense pressure and heat of the earth's mantle. Often preferred for fancy coloured diamonds.
Significantly more so than mined diamonds. Lab grown diamonds require no land disruption, no large-scale mining operations, and generate a fraction of the carbon footprint per carat. Our manufacturing partners use renewable energy sources wherever possible, making our diamonds among the most sustainable fine gemstones available today.
Not with standard tools. Lab grown and mined diamonds are indistinguishable using a loupe, microscope, or standard gemological instruments. Only specialised equipment (such as a De Beers DiamondView™) can detect certain growth patterns specific to lab grown diamonds. All lab grown diamonds sold by us are laser-inscribed and certified, so the origin is always disclosed transparently.
